Hi ,
Last weekend, I volunteered at a running event.
I wasn’t racing or training. I was on the sidelines, encouraging others. And for the second year in a row, I came away with the same quiet reminder.
You don’t lose your place in running just because you’re not running right now.
Life has a habit of getting in the
way. Injury, fatigue, work, family, or just not having the energy you once did. When that happens, a lot of people quietly drift away, feeling like they no longer quite belong.
Standing on the sidelines reminded me how untrue that is.
Running has never really been about speed or distance. It’s about effort, persistence, and showing up in whatever way you can. Sometimes that means racing. Sometimes it means walking. Sometimes it means simply staying
connected.
If you’re in one of those in-between seasons, I wrote this week’s blog with you in mind. It’s not advice. Just a reflection and a reminder.

As always, take what’s useful, leave the
rest, and be kind to yourself.
