Hi ,
I don’t know about you, but I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve said, “I’ll do it when things quieten down.”
Except they never really do, do they? There’s always something — work, family, house stuff, life stuff. And before you know it, weeks go by and you’ve given every bit of energy you have to everyone else.
I’ve
learned the hard way that you can’t run on empty. Literally and figuratively.
Taking time for yourself isn’t selfish — it’s maintenance. It’s how you refill your cup so you can show up for the people and things that matter most.
When you move your body, clear your head, or just breathe for a few quiet minutes, everything else works better.
Here’s what’s helped me (and maybe it’ll help you too):
Protect a
little space. Even 15 minutes. Put it on the calendar like an appointment.
Start small. A short walk. Stretching. Sitting with a coffee before the day kicks off. It all counts.
Drop the guilt. You’re not stealing time from anyone — you’re making sure you can keep giving it.
This week, try to claim just one small moment that’s yours. No guilt, no pressure. Just you and a bit of breathing
space.
That’s what Runners Gateway is all about — giving yourself permission to start, to slow down, to show up, and to keep going. And if you’d like a little extra encouragement, we’ve got a whole community waiting for you inside the community!

You deserve your own time. You really do.
