Hi ,
There’s a quiet thought a lot of people carry around.
“I want to run… but I don’t feel ready yet.”
Ready enough.
Fit enough.
Confident enough.
If that’s you, you’re not broken or behind. You’re just human.
Most people imagine there’s a moment where motivation clicks into place.
Where energy appears. Where fear disappears. But for almost everyone, that moment never comes. They wait for it, and waiting quietly becomes the habit.
The truth is, readiness doesn’t arrive before you start. It grows because you start.
Feeling uncertain is not a sign you shouldn’t begin. It’s often a sign that this matters to you.
A few gentle reminders if you’re stuck in that space:
First, you don’t need to feel
like a runner to take your first step.
You don’t become confident and then move. You move, and confidence follows. Often slowly. Often quietly.
Second, starting does not mean running.
Walking counts. Standing up and going outside counts. Ten minutes counts. You are not doing it wrong by starting small. You are doing it sustainably.
Third, fear usually shrinks once it meets action.
That voice saying “what if I can’t” tends to get quieter
once your body realises you are allowed to go at your own pace.
If you’ve been waiting for permission, this is it.
You don’t need a perfect plan.
You don’t need to fix yourself first.
You don’t need to earn the right to begin.
You are allowed to start exactly where you are, with the energy you have today.
If you’d like a gentle place to begin, I’ve written a longer piece on the blog that walks through this
feeling and what to do next, without pressure or performance talk.
You can read it here when you’re ready.
